- Drawing the furniture plan to scale
This one day course will teach you how to draw to scale. Understanding and interpreting plans is a prerequisite for an interior designer.
Working off plan, for either new build or renovation projects, is common and therefore it is essential that interior designers are able to draw plans to scale and visualise the space concerned.
This one day course introduces students to scale drawings and planning furniture layouts. Through a series of structured exercises we will work at both 1:20 and 1:50 scales. Students will be introduced to technical drawing equipment, using the drawing board, set square, drawing pens etc, becoming fully conversant with the tools of a professional designer.
We will also consider practical methods of planning a furniture layout within a given space, addressing issues such as spatial planning and basic ergonomics. An ideal course to follow this day would be DRAWING elevations.
